Pastor: Allen Bramlett
Allen came to us from the Waco area where Allen served as the pastor of a local congregation. Allen received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 2012 and then his Master of Divinity degree from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University in 2015, both located in Waco, Texas. In Spring of 2017, Allen began pursuing his PhD in Church History with a focus in early christian studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas through their innovative Flex access program that allows Allen to pursue studies while continuing to pastor.
Allen is married to Sarah Bramlett who is a Waco native. Sarah received her education from McLennan Community College in Waco and is working for the Onalaska Elementary School as a paraprofessional for kindergarden. Sarah and Allen welcomed their first child, Hudson, May of 2018 and are loving the parenting journey!
In their free time, they enjoy spending time with their families as well as their little corgi named Mika, reading their favorite books, and enjoying musicals and crime dramas together.
Allen and Sarah are both committed to joining their community, not only their church, in various activities as they are able.
Interim Music Director: Michael Ainsworth, Jr.
Michael (Mickey) is a long time member of First Baptist Church, where he has served in different capacities as a Sunday School teacher. youth sponsor, small group leader, as well as a fill-in for our previous music minister. Mickey has a heart for the Onalaska community, as well as the greater Polk County area, and seeks to aid our church in God-honoring worship in our various worship gatherings.
Besides leading our services in worship, Mickey continues to serve as the director of our Young Adult department where he teaches Sunday School and helps organize Bible studies and fellowships.
Mickey and his wife, Angie, along with their son Gabriel, are a vital part of our ministries here at First Baptist.
Interim Youth Director: Shelby Sliger
Shelby is a long time member of the church who came through our youth ministry program and is currently pursuing her BSN from Sam Houston State University. When she is not in school, she pours every moment of her free time into our youth program, hoping to help our students grow in their faith and to help reach the students in our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She works with our students in our Wednesday activities, Sunday School, Open Gym on Thursdays and helps plan and carry out other events for the sake of the Gospel.
